Powered by Volunteers

ReFresh provides clothing to youth in foster care at 90% off, and funds to support our programs.

Volunteers sort donations, tag clothing, dress mannequins in the latest fashions, assist foster families and other customers shopping in the store, and help with other tasks as needed. Volunteers work alongside other community volunteers.

Volunteer Levels

Red Volunteer (0-20 hours in 3 months)

Red Volunteers Receive an extra 10% off every [re]Fresh purchase.

Red Projects:

  • Select fashions – [re]Fresh receives hundreds of donated items every week. Red volunteers will decide what goes out on the floor to be sold, and which items are better off recycled.
  • Tag merchandise – Red volunteers use tagging guns to attach labels to floor-worthy merchandise.
  • Organize clothing racks – [re]Fresh makes shopping easy by keeping merchandise organized by color & size. Red volunteers coordinate fabulous displays!

Yellow Volunteer (21-50 hours)

Yellow volunteers receive an extra 25% off every [re]Fresh purchase.

Yellow Projects:

  • Price fashions – Yellow volunteers use our pricing system along with their fashion forward knowledge to price merchandise.
  • Greet customers – [re]Fresh customers feel good knowing their purchase goes to a great cause. Yellow volunteers explain that all proceeds benefit youth in foster care through the FACC.
  • Accept donations – All donations are tax deductible. Yellow volunteers have customers fill out a tax form and bring donations to a designated area.
  • Dress mannequins – Yellow volunteers dress & accessorize window mannequins with tasteful style.

Green Volunteer (51+ hours)

Green volunteers receive annual recognition sent to schools, newspapers, & online media outlets, 25% off every [re]Fresh purchase and $10 in [re]Fresh rewards after every 3 months of perfect attendance.

Green Projects:

  • Check out customers – Green volunteers are trained on our registers & to be the (smiling) face of the store.
  • Lead group tours – [re]Fresh holds a volunteer orientation the 1st Saturday of each month. With their expertise on [re]Fresh & the Coalition, Green volunteers can lead these monthly tours.

Background Check

Because [RE]FRESH volunteers work with foster/adoptive children and families, a criminal background check showing “no findings” through the Family Care Safety Registry is required. Within a few weeks of registering, you will receive your background check in the mail. A copy of this letter is required before you begin volunteering. Letters can be emailed, mailed, or faxed to the Coalition Register for a background check here. Click the tabs from left to right to complete the application.

Release Form

A signed and dated volunteer release form is required before beginning to volunteer at ReFresh. Download the form here, and bring it with you on your first volunteer date. A parent signature is required for minors under 18 years old.
